Perhaps a better question might be what’s not changing about the pulp and paper industry. Today’s industry looks very different from that of just a few years ago, and those shifts are likely to continue to take place as the world becomes increasingly more concerned about the environment around us. Komax has long been a partner in the pulp and paper industry, providing the equipment they need to get more done on a daily basis. Here are just a few of our pulp and paper technologies.
- Steam Pulp Heater: This technology is one of our older ones, but it is still running strong in many paper manufacturing facilities today. It was developed in 1990 for a Canadian bleach mill, and today, it provides the heat needed for hundreds of others. Inside are six parallel mixing chambers where pulp stock and steam make contact and are mixed without vibration or noise at the highest mixing efficiency levels on the market today.
- Chlorine Dioxide High Substitution Bleaching System: This technology employees our well known Triple Action Static Mixer in an entirely new way. it creates back mixing, which produces the high shear necessary to help separate pulp fibers and build fluidization.
- Starch Cooker: This is a smaller version of our direct steam heater, and inside, there are no moving parts or adjustments to make, which means you get the mixing you need at the right heat without the hassle. The result is completely uniform cooking.
Many of our favorite explorations have been discovering what we can do within the pulp and paper industry, and as it continues to change, so will our technologies to help support it.
