Our custody transfer mixers are installed upstream in your crude oil sampling transfer lines, and they have a remarkable ability. Unlike many other choices on the market today, they can assure that the bottom sediment and water is completely dispersed throughout the stream for the best metering performance you’ve ever had, and that’s a must in today’s economy. It’s a level of automation you can count on again and again thanks to our even water droplet size and distribution over the widest possible flow and pipe size range.
Our custody transfer mixers are primarily installed in petroleum sampling lines like those on ship and tank truck terminals. You also find them in refinery transfer lines working in combination with an LACT unit where the right metering is nothing short of a must-have.
The best part about the Komax Custody Transfer Mixers, though, is their go-to attitude. They are supplied with weld neck flanges or ends that are ready to weld immediately. To further simplify things, they come complete with a two-inch flanged port for an automatic sampler connection.
Custody transfer sampling and mixing problems aren’t anything new. In fact, they’re almost as old as the industry itself. We set out to do something very different, though. We wanted a flexible solution that works for every company, every single time. Our custody transfer mixers are designed to be installed in either a horizontal or vertical pipeline. Either way, you get the perfect mixing power. In a horizontal line, the first element is set off the center line by 30 degrees. That means the bottom mixing element is forced to act as a ramp, pushing that water up into the crude. The internal vortices push a portion of the flow back upstream, which means you’re never going to see those all-too-typical spikes of bottom sediment and water nor will you see overmixing or emulsifying.
