The Use of Static Wafer Mixers

Static wafer mixers are designed for use where there simply is not enough room to accommodate a more traditional static mixer or where the budget is a bit too limited to install a more complex static mixer.  They are created to sandwich in and work between pipe flanges.  This simple yet clever design can and does provide an excellent mixing performance and do so with very low coefficient of variation (COV).   Best of all it does this in a very confined space and at a lower cost them many other mixers.  The static wafer mixer is an excellent choice when needing a mixer for use in a confined space.

Static wafer mixers are an excellent choice for uses that need the mixing of liquids or liquid-like chemicals and can be used for water treatment uses such as:

  • Chlorination
  • Ph control
  • Corrosion inhibitors
  • Coagulation
  • Antiscalants
  • Caustics
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Iron solutions
  • Dilute acids
  • Diluted polymers
  • Ammonia addition
  • Methanol addition

The Komax Wafer Mixer  provides an exceptional mixing performance with extremely low COV and this mixing can be accomplished in a very limited space and at a reasonable price.  The blending of our distribution elements along with our centerline upstream injection allows this static wafer mixer to be able to achieve the needed mixing results that can be obtained at multiple flow conditions, which makes their wafer mixer well above their competitor’s wafer mixers.  This uncommon and extraordinary static wafer mixer design is able to reduce energy loss of the flow as the liquid proceeds through the mixer since more of the flow remains attached to the wafer mixer’s walls which prevents the flow separation that can happen with more standard and less creative and ingenuitive designed mixers that are on the market.
