Our Chlorine Dioxide High Substitution Bleaching System is old news. It’s one of the most established technologies in the industry today, and it’s in use in many locations across the globe. It’s based on our Triple Action Mixing formula, which helps to create back mixing, thus providing the high shear needed to separate pulp fibers and fludize the pulp, which means better chemical contact.
Why Do So Many Mills Turn to Komax?
Wondering why this equipment is used by so many mills? The reason is actually a fairly simple one. Those bleaching medium stock consistency with chlorine dioxide have found that they can wholly reduce their capital equipment costs with a single pulp stock mixer from us. One low cost static mixer is installed upstream of the high shear mixer. Chlorine dioxide is injected into an FRP mixer, and the four elements inside completely mix the CLO2 into the pulp itself which helps to dilute it before it enters the high shear mechanical mixer. That means a less expensive solution downstream, which can not only save on capital costs, but also energy costs. In fact, we’ve found that many of the mills saved enough energy in a single year to pay for the mixer four times over. What’s more, though, is that this is a wholly maintenance free solution for up to ten years of service.
