Specialty Alloy Static Mixers
Titanium
Titanium is a high-performance material that is best suited for handling high-corrosion applications at high temperatures. It can also provide wear and abrasion resistance, making it an ideal choice for industries such as Pulp and Paper, Oil and gas, Petrochemical, and Mining. At Komax Systems we are capable of handling all titanium grades, providing the strength and durability needed for harsh industrial environments dependent on the application's specific needs.
One of the most significant advantages of titanium is its exceptional resistance to corrosion. It is highly resistant to a wide range of corrosive chemicals, making it an excellent choice for applications where other materials might corrode or degrade. In addition, titanium has excellent mechanical properties, including high strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance.
Duplex Stainless Steel
Duplex stainless steel is a high-performance material that is designed to handle a wide range of fluids in various industries such as Pulp and Paper, oil and gas, water treatment, and desalination.
This material is ideal for use in harsh environments where corrosion can cause serious damage to the pipeline infrastructure. It is widely used in the oil and gas industry, from upstream to downstream operations, due to its ability to withstand high salt content at elevated pressures and temperatures.
In the water treatment industry, duplex stainless steel is often used in desalination plants, where seawater is processed into fresh water. The high corrosion resistance of the material system ensures that the plant can operate efficiently for extended periods with minimal maintenance.
Duplex stainless steel is available in two grades, 2205 and 2507, depending on the application needed. Duplex 2205 provides exceptional corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides.
Duplex 2507, also known as Super Duplex is specially designed for extreme environments and has added chromium, nickel, and molybdenum for even higher resistance to corrosion.
Overall, duplex steel is a reliable and efficient solution for various industries, offering excellent corrosion resistance, durability, and strength.
Hastelloy®
Hastelloy® is made from a nickel alloy and is renowned for its excellent corrosion resistance to all chemicals at high temperatures, particularly sulfuric acid (H2SO4). This makes it an ideal choice for a range of applications in various industries where resistance to corrosion is essential.
Hastelloy® comes in two popular grades, C276 and C22, and is available in a wide range of other grades as well. C276 is ideal for applications that require resistance to corrosion and pitting in harsh environments, while C22 is ideal for applications that require excellent resistance to corrosion, especially in oxidizing environments.
This versatile material can be used in all industries, including chemical processing, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and more, depending on the application. Its unique combination of properties, including resistance to stress corrosion cracking, ability to handle high temperatures, strength, and excellent fabricability, makes it a popular choice among engineers and manufacturers. Hastelloy can be used to create products such as specialty alloy steam heaters, static mixers, and desuperheaters.
Chromalloy
Chromalloy is best suited for high-temperature applications. It is an alloy of chromium, molybdenum, and iron, making it a suitable material for applications where heat resistance is essential. Because of its heat-resistant properties, it’s ideal for use in industries such as power generation, chemical processing, and oil and gas.
Chromalloy comes in various grades, with the most common being P11, P22, and P91. All grades are suitable for elevated temperatures and pressures, but the higher the grade (e.g. P22 or P91), the more resilient the metal becomes to pressure at higher temperatures. For a lower temperature application P11 would be a suitable grade, while P22 or P91 would be more important to use for a system operating at higher temperatures.
Moreover, Chromalloy is also known for its durability, which makes it ideal for use in harsh environments. It can be easily fabricated and installed, reducing overall costs and time. Chromalloy can be used to create products such as specialty alloy steam heaters, static mixers, and desuperheaters.
Alloy 600
Alloy 600 is a highly corrosion-resistant material that is designed to withstand high temperatures and high pressure. It is an ideal material for use in harsh environments where corrosion can cause serious damage to the pipeline infrastructure.
This material is best suited for desalination implementations, where seawater is processed into fresh water, and in the oil and gas industry, specifically in oil upstream operations. Alloy 600 can be used to create products such as specialty alloy steam heaters, static mixers, and desuperheaters.
Alloy 20
Alloy 20 is a corrosion-resistant material that is similar to Alloy 600 in terms of corrosion resistance. However, it is not as suitable for high-temperature applications as Alloy 600.
This material is best suited for applications where corrosion resistance is critical, such as in the chemical and petrochemical industries, at normal to slightly elevated temperatures. Alloy 20 can be used to create products such as specialty alloy steam heaters, static mixers, and desuperheaters.
Monel® 400
Monel® 400 is a nickel-copper based alloy that is known for its excellent corrosion and heat resistance properties. It is very similar to Alloy 600, with only slight differences in elemental makeup and heat resistance.
This material is commonly used across the oil and gas production industry. It is also used for applications such as marine piping, heat exchangers, and pump shafts. Its excellent resistance to corrosion, particularly in marine environments, makes it an ideal choice for these types of applications.
Monel® 400 is an excellent choice for applications where corrosion resistance and heat endurance are critical. Its high resistance to corrosion and excellent heat endurance makes it a popular choice among engineers and manufacturers who require reliable and efficient piping solutions. Monel 400 can be used to create products such as specialty alloy steam heaters, static mixers, and desuperheaters.
