The Plastics Industry Association recently released a report that showed a very positive outlook for 2017 throughout the industry. Among the big news in the report was a note that employment was back on the rise after some declines, and that shale gas could help plastics fare better this year than many other industries might.
Last year, the industry shipments totaled more than $400 billion, and it has grown to become the third-largest manufacturing sector in the world, behind only oil and gas and automobiles.
We Can Help
At Komax, we’re working to help plastics processing companies with the technology they need most to help increase their ability to grow. Our Ultra Mixer is based on the understanding that the initial demand placed on any plastics static mixing system are at the entrance to the system, and our mixer establishes a reasonable distribution of an additive over the whole cross section of the pipe. Our Special Introduction and Distribution Device, or SIDD, was specifically patented to introduce and mix colorants into a melt stream, one of the toughest of all mixing tasks. Our Thermal Equalization and Distribution Device, or TEDD, was created to help reduce the wide temperature variation across the diameter of the melt stream as it leaves the extruder.
With so much technology designed around this industry, growing plastics companies can count on Komax throughout the upcoming years of growth to provide a better class of equipment.
