At Komax, we believe in the importance of community service. We’ve donated extensively, both in terms of our time and our products, to ensure the needs within our community (both our physical community and our industrial one) are met again and again. It’s just part of the philosophy behind our company. During the tragedy of September 11, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and in many other situations, we’ve worked hard to ensure the Red Cross had what they needed to help. We also supported a project for a small village in the Philippines to help manage storm water runoff so they could reduce the constant threat of flooding. We support at the local level with police and fire department fundraisers. We’ve supported high school athletic programs, offered free demo equipment to college labs, and worked with the ALS Association, Wounded Warriors, and the International Medical Corps. Our employees are expected to follow suit on a personal level too.
Why are we working so hard in terms of community service? We really do want the world to be a better place. We’re not alone, either. A recent study found that many consumers consider corporate social responsibility when they decide where to buy. Obviously it’s important to us that we make the world a better place, but how do you actually begin to do that as a company? These tips might help your company get started too.
