Fully grown humans were supposedly all lactose intolerant at some point, yet through generations of toughness and necessity we have mostly beaten this obstacle and now have countless delicacies to prove it. None of these products are more satisfying AND healthy as yogurt. Because we love yogurt so much, we at Komax Systems decided to have a little experiment.
Nestled within Western Germany lies Milchof Herne, a producer who was tired of making yogurt on a batch-by-batch basis with high costs in labor, equipment, and time. While this seems like an inefficient process, it is how all yogurts have and are made up until now. Well, we experimented with their system and gave them the gift of continuous output, highly consistent yogurt. This is what we discovered.
Using static mixers and metering pumps, the system has continuous output capability all with automated production! This means labor intensive shift work for constantly stirring up batches is a thing of the past. Not only do the workers shift their abilities to a more productive aspect of production, but the 600 liter preparation tanks are gone and replaced with more useful components.
While production is streamlined, labor is conserved, and the process is continuous, there is another perk of this transition that makes it all worth it. By using static mixers and metering pumps, the final product is significantly better and each container is more exact. This process eliminates the settling of fruits and additives within yogurt because the product will never sit idle in a tank again, but will instead remain moving until it is packaged.
All of this process goes on with Komax’s dedication to sanitation within production. The yogurt production goes on in a completely enclosed system, meaning the intensive sanitation requirements with batch making are a thing of the past. Yogurt is an ancient product that deserves the utmost attention to detail, which is why we have helped evolve this art to meet continually increasing demands.
