Our steam heaters were designed to directly inject steam into tanks to heat water or compatible products in the most efficient, quiet manner possible. That’s ideal in many situations. In fact, some customers have found it to be nothing short of perfect.
A Vibrating Mess
Northwood Pulp and Timber Company, located in Prince George, British Columbia, had one serious issue with their conventional steam sparger. The noise level when they were working to heat a large volume paper machine chest was absolutely incredible, and it wasn’t doing much good for the equipment either. The tank walls, lined with ceramic tiles, were experiencing some real issues – like damage and cracking thanks to the vibrations. When they came to us, they were looking for real help that would ensure the tank would last as long as possible. We recommended installation of the Komax Scepter Direct Steam Tank Heater. The result? The vibration and banging were completely gone. What’s more, though, is that the mill found a far faster heating time and better tank circulation than they were ever able to get with the older model.
Faster Start Times
Northwood Pulp and Timber Company is far from the only company we’ve helped with our Scepter Tank Heater. One industrial company in Maine needed to heat a fairly large tank of water in under a half hour for better start-up procedures. A six inch Scepter Tank heater was installed, and the results were nothing short of stunning. The water temperature went from 80 degrees to 140 degrees in just six minutes, which meant some real money savings for the company.
