Moving from a mechanical mixer to static mixer greatly streamlines the production process. This is especially true with chemical addition into a highly fluid environment where no shearing needs to take place. Mechanical mixers are stage dependent and are significantly less effective than Komax’s immediate mixing within flowing environments. Our triple action static mixture works great for viscous materials, but consider our wafer mixer when polymer addition is needed within a light and fast-flow system.
The Komax Wafer Mixer introduces polymer into a fluid stream without affecting flow rates since the mixing takes place without disrupting the connection between liquid and pipe boundary. This means that mixing takes place at the flow’s top speed instead of having to slow down within the mixer. By injecting polymer upstream into the flow, the additive is reversed and joins in with the stream. After this addition, the contents pass through our wafer mixer and the two liquids are mixed into one.
The mixer works very effectively in all flow rates whether a system is at peak performance or a casual output. At all speeds, the mixing element produces a very low coefficient of variance, meaning the pipe’s contents become completely mixed and no matter what section of the pipe is tested, the contents will be at a even percentage all throughout. Not only do these mixers excel where flow needs to remain maximized, but also where there is not enough room to implement a traditional triple action static mixer.
Komax Wafer mixers work wonderfully for adding chemicals or polymers into a flow stream and achieving complete mixing. In many cases, the thoroughness of our wafer mixer means fewer additives need to be used in order to achieve desired results. The Wafer mixer caters to specialized applications without sacrificing performance for such.
