Below are two examples where we’ve implemented creative solutions for industry problems.
Klean-Wall Heat Exchanger-When propositioned for a clog-resistant sludge heating system, we looked to our Klean-Wall Heat Exchanger to fill the two-part void. The current technique utilized already digested effluent as a way to lessen the need for heated water. A great idea in thought, but the practice was hap-hazardous due to inefficient heat exchange and frequent clogging. The Klean-Wall utilizes Komax’s non-clog mixing technique inside both the tube and outer casing so that turbulent flow maximized heat exchange by up to 300%.
Komax Custody Transfer Mixer- This mixer was specifically tailored to produce an exact environment for crude oil custody transfer. We showcased our static mixing ability in combination with a special straightening fin to cancel all axial rotation in downstream flow. This mixer combines water and bottom settlement back into crude oil so that accurate proportions can be measured. The well-mixed product and non-turbulent flow promote a more precise custody transfer in such a way that allows accurate readings to be taken just 2-4 pipe diameters downstream from the mixer.
Scepter Tank Heater– A paper manufacturing company was having detrimental problems with a standard steam sparger, creating violent vibrations and even cracking the ceramic-lined tank walls. The company switched to a Komax Scepter Tank Heater and noticed not only zero banging, but also the heating time decreased and circulation increased.
