Hi-Pass Static Mixer Design
There are several reasons why the Komax design is more effective than traditional models. The Hi-Pass Static Mixer is extremely resistant to fouling and clogging. The engineers set the edges with a smooth radius to prevent high fouling. The basis is on a set of right rotation components that is then followed by a set of left rotation components set at 90 degrees from each other.
Municipal sludges often include solid and fibrous materials of ample quantities. These types will accumulate and cause fouling and plugging conditions in traditional static mixers. The Hi-Pass design eliminates this problem.
The Hi-Pass Sludge Mixer not only can perform pressure-sensitive applications, but it does so efficiently and effectively. The mixer can handle municipal sludges that contain up to 5% of solids. It can also pass individual solid items with a minimum diameter of up to 25% that of the mixer.

Efficiency in Flow
The design of the injector manifold with the mixer presents the diluted polymer solution to the sludge flow. This process provides for the best possible efficiency. The mixer achieves better dispersion of the small amount of solution through the sludge mixing elements.
The Hi-Pass Sludge Mixer reduces polymer consumption and costs and also will produce dryer cake solids in the dewatering process. The mixer is particularly suited for use on the feed line to devices such as belt fiber presses, gravity belt thickeners, plate filter presses, centrifuges, and pressure or vacuum filters.
