It looks as if desalination technology is only going to continue its growth trend in the upcoming year. Wondering why? A new report released by IDTechEx found that more and more countries are looking toward desalination as a way to support their growing populations. With an increasing number of barren farms in countries like Syria and bigger places like India experiencing a dropping water table, researchers understand that soon new sources of water must be found.
One of the biggest problems with current desalination technology is not only that it does a poor job of creating useable water, but also that it uses an extensive amount of energy. New technologies, though, are focused on off the grid solutions. Saudi Arabia’s biggest plant is working to go entirely solar over the next few years. China is working on a plan to combine wind and solar energy to create a better desalination solution. Many more countries are looking at the technology now, too, to create a better way to harvest ocean water and make it work well for their own citizens.
Komax’s Commitment to the Environment
At Komax, we’ve developed technologies to help support today’s latest desalination advancements, and our commitment to the environment means we’re only going to continue to come up with ideas that will help desalination plants become more eco friendly. We’re not sure what’s coming next in the industry, but one thing is certain, we’re developing options that will help make it happen.
