There are a number of wastewater lagoons that suffer from too much sludge accumulation. In many cases, lagoon sludge treatment is excessively challenging because excess sludge can create real issues. What can Komax do to help? Our Static Sludge Mixer is the perfect solution.
Non-Plugging Technology
The Komax Static Sludge Mixer was created to effectively mix where serious sludge is present. Each of the mixing elements inside sweeps two thirds of the circumference of the pipe, forcing the flow to the opposite side, and that can mean better wall-to-wall radial transfer. It comes with four standard elements, which includes three cavities that are inter-set within the pipe. Solid contact occurs there thanks to the momentum reversal and flow impingement inside. Performance with this mixer doesn’t depend on standing or trailing vortex flow. Fortunately, that means no downstream pipe lay is required for the process to be complete.
Perhaps the best part of this piece of equipment is that it is built with a non-fouling design. Element edges have a smooth contour with a sizable radius, and intersections all happen at oblique angles, which helps to eliminate those corners that are so common in other designs. Thanks to the natural momentum reversal and flow impingement, you have a completely self-cleaning environment that will pass solids up to 1/2 of the diameter of the pipe.
Aeration is the key to dealing with and preventing excess sludge, and our Static Sludge Mixer is the perfect help. To learn more, contact us today.
