Steam Sparger Tank Heater

Custom Steam Heater

Our Steam Sparger Tank Heaters, also known as Scepter Steam Heaters, are designed for the direct injection of steam into tanks for heating water-compatible products in a quiet, vibration-free, and 100% efficient fashion. In addition, the sparger tank heater develops a strong stirring action to help keep any solids or particulates in suspension. This stirring action also helps to produce uniform temperature throughout the tank volume allowing accurate thermostatic control.

Product Benefits

The Equalizer® Mixing Module

The scepter tank steam heater draws in the liquid with a vacuum effect created by momentum of the steam existing in the steam sparger. The liquid then is drawn into the six fixed mixing chambers of the Equalizer™ Mixing Module, where water and steam are divided and recombined by the mixing elements to form multiple impingent mixing zones for uniform temperature control within the tank. This division and recombination of streams shears the steam bubbles to a small size and ensures an operation that is free of vibration, noise, and/or auxiliary air supply.

  • By injecting steam straight into the liquid, steam sparger tank heaters remove the energy losses that come with indirect heating techniques.
  • In order to ensure optimum energy transmission with the least amount of waste, steam condenses completely within the liquid.
  • When steam comes into contact with liquid, it condenses, raising the temperature quickly and consistently.
  • Production cycles are accelerated by rapid heating, increasing total operational efficiency.
  • By allocating steam evenly throughout the liquid, the sparger design helps to avoid hot patches and localized overheating.
  • Chemical reactions, mixing, and cooking all benefit from uniform temperature.
  • Sparger heaters fit straight into tanks, saving floor space in contrast to large external heating systems.
  • No more circulation pumps or heat exchangers are required.

Technical Specifications and
Available Options for Steam Sparger Tank Heaters

End Connections & Available Custom Options

  • Flanged End: Flanged End connection allows an easy mounting of the Scepter to the steam supply line. As a general standard, the scepters have raised face ASME B16.5 flange but can also be provided with a DIN (metric) flange as well.
  • Threaded End: Komax Systems offers a male and female NPT/BSPT end connection on the scepter to be threaded directly onto the steam line.
  • Weld Prep End: For custom configuration Komax Systems offers weld prep end connections on static mixers.

*All static mixers are custom made; end connection type can be made per customer request.

Additional Product Details

Steam Heaters can be used in all sorts of industries, which include but are not limited to: Food and Beverage, Oil and Gas , Chemical Processing, Mining, Plastics Production, and Natural Gas Production.

Yes! At Komax Systems, we have four different steam heating offerings. Namely, we offer a direct injection steam heater, a sanitary inline steam heater, a steam sparger tank heater, and a tailings solvent recovery heater. Each of these four products provides a unique steam heating solution to a pipeline process. Get in contact with one of our sales engineers to determine which solution is best for your project!

Komax Steam Heaters are used to increase the temperature of a process fluid by injecting saturated steam into the line. The steam is injected just upstream of our Equalzier Mixing Module, which shears the steam bubbles to very small sizes to reduce any vibrations or shaking that may be caused by water hammer/collapsing steam bubbles. If you are interested or think a Komax Steam Heater is the right fit for your project fill out a contact sheet and one of our experienced sales engineers will help design the perfect unit for your process!
