Profit optimization has become a major focus for companies in many industries, but nowhere is this more true than within the world of oil and gas. With so many high risk megaprojects in the works these days, oil and gas companies are constantly looking for ways to do more and make more. Custody transfer is one spot where value can be increased greatly with the right equipment, but creating a perfect process can be tough. That’s where our custody transfer mixer comes into play.
Our CT mixer is installed upstream of the crude oil sampling transfer line. Most of our current installations have been in ship and tank truck terminals or refinery transfers. Two 20 foot CT mixers saved three million dollars for Chevron in a single ship loading terminal. With a life expectancy of 20 years, it’s money Chevron can count on gaining again and again.
What makes our mixers different is that they assure the bottom sediment and water is completely dispersed throughout the crude oil stream for optimal metering performance. Across a wide flow range and pipe size range, you get an even water droplet size and distribution, so it’s truly representative and repeatable.
Our mixers can be installed in a horizontal or vertical pipeline. Perhaps the best feature is that we’ve included a special exit straightening fin that helps to cancel out any axial rotation of the flow downstream. Rotation at that point would cause a centrifuging problem to reoccur and create inaccurate results.
